Around the table

Your food. Their favorite story from this trip.

A traveling family sits down at your table. Your kids show theirs around. Someone asks for the recipe. By the end of the evening, you've swapped restaurant tips, argued about the best local market, and made plans to stay in touch. That's a The Family Table dinner. No script just what happens when you feed people well in your own home.

Host a great dinner. Earn while you do it.

Your terms

Host a great dinner. Earn while you do it.

Set your own dates, your own menu, your own pace. The Family Table takes care of the rest: connecting you with a vetted family who's genuinely excited to be at your table. A few dinners a month covers a nice dinner out, a weekend away, or just a little breathing room. On your schedule, always.

Hosts charge between €15–35 per adult (kids half price) — enough to cover groceries with something left over. Depending on the dinner you have in mind, just your favorite pasta dish or a 3 course menu. You set your own price, always.

It's a Tuesday dinner, not a dinner party.

What they'll remember

It's a Tuesday dinner, not a dinner party.

Your everyday pasta is exactly what guests came for. No spotless house required, no five-course menu, no hosting skills beyond what you already do every night. Guests booked a family table, toys on the floor included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a good host?

Everyone can be a host. You don't need fancy training or restaurant experience. What matters is your willingness to share your table and create a welcoming space where families feel at home.

How far in advance do I plan?

You control your own schedule. Some hosts plan dinners weeks ahead, others prefer shorter notice. You'll see bookings and can accept or decline based on what works for you.

What if someone cancels last minute?

Cancellation are annoying but realistic as parents with young children. Check out our cancellation policy. You'll have clear expectations about refunds and notice periods before you commit to hosting.

How do I handle dietary restrictions?

Guests will tell you their dietary needs when they book. You decide whether you can accommodate them. It's perfectly fine to decline if something doesn't work for your menu or kitchen.

Can I host if I don't have kids?

Unfortunately, hosting is only possible with children. While we celebrate families in all their forms, the only requirement is that at least one child per family is present, helping us keep a warm, family-focused atmosphere at every table.

How much should I charge?

There's no fixed answer. Base your price on the meal you're offering, the time it takes to prepare, and the overall experience you're creating. As a general guide: a family-style meal runs €15–25 per adult, a more elaborate dinner €30–50+ per adult, and children aged 2–12 €8–15. Keep in mind that these are the prices guests pay. As a host, you retain 85% of the total, so factor that in when deciding what feels right for your time and effort.

What if I'm nervous about hosting?

That's natural. We'll guide you through everything before your first dinner. You'll know who's coming, how many people, and any dietary needs in advance.

Can I host multiple dinners monthly?

Absolutely. Some hosts do one dinner a month, others do several. You decide your own pace and availability. There's no minimum or maximum.

How do I get paid?

Payments go directly to you after each dinner. We handle the transaction securely and you receive your earnings within a few days of the meal.

What photos do I need for my profile?

A few photos of your table, your food, or your home, whatever shows the welcome you offer. Your children should not need to appear in any photo, and we encourage you to keep them out of frame. Guests are choosing a dinner, not a family album.
