Welcome to The Family Table
The Family Table brings families together over home-cooked meals. Whether you're travelling or looking to connect with families in your own community.
Meet local families over dinner.
The Family Table is a platform where people share home-cooked meals in real homes. Some join as hosts, welcoming guests to their table. Others join as guests, whether they're travelling or simply looking to build community where they live. Every experience is designed with children in mind, creating a relaxed environment where family life is welcomed, not worked around.
Established June 2026.
We believe that some of the best evenings don't happen in restaurants. They happen around someone's kitchen table, with food that took time to prepare, conversations that go beyond small talk, and children who can simply play and do their thing.

It all started in a camper van
We were traveling for 10 weeks in the US, a baby and toddler in tow and the thought kept lingering: why can’t we just invite ourselves into another family’s home? Not instead of going to a restaurant, but to have an experience we couldn't get anywhere else.
A place to make new friends, for the adults and the kids. A place where children make friends, parents connect, and family life looks exactly as it should. The children are running around? So what? They're happy. You're relaxed. That's the whole point.
Like Airbnb, but for family dinners. Since that did not exist, we decided to build it ourselves. So here we are.

Hosts open their homes. Guests join the table.
The Family Table brings families together over home-cooked meals.
Some families join as hosts, opening their homes and welcoming guests around their table. They decide what to cook, when they'd like to host, and how much to charge.
Other families join as guests. They browse available tables, choose an experience that suits them, and book an evening with a local family.
No two evenings are exactly alike, but they all begin the same way—with an invitation to dinner.
For guest families Whether you're travelling abroad, exploring somewhere new closer to home, or simply looking to meet other families in your own community, finding a Family Table is easy.
Browse available tables, explore host profiles, discover what's on the menu, and choose the experience that's right for your family.
Request your booking, wait for confirmation, then simply show up and enjoy the evening.
For host families
Hosting is just as straightforward.
Create your profile, choose the dates you'd like to host, decide what you'd like to serve, and set your price.
We'll connect you to families looking for exactly the kind of experience you're offering, so all that's left to do is welcome them to your table.
What makes it different
Why not just simply go to a restaurant? Well, we don't want our kids to think they can only order from a kids' menu, and we don't want you to spend the evening shushing them.
The Family Table offers a different kind of experience. A place for parents to connect, for children to watch you model how to welcome and interact with other people, to try the same food everyone else is eating, and to simply be themselves without anyone having to worry.
What to expect from a Family Table dinner
Every table is different. Every host family, every city, every menu.
Someone opens a door who is really glad to see you.
They chose to open their home to you. Every host on The Family Table is a parent themselves and they know what a good evening with children looks like, and they're inviting you in. They might miss good company and a play date for their children, too.
The kids find each other.
Children don't need much of an introduction. By the time the adults have sat down, they've usually already sorted themselves out.
You eat something good.
That’s for sure. Probably not because the host is a chef or considers themselves to be one. Just because home-made food at a future friends house always tastes good. An evening out with your kids and other adults, a good conversation, no worries… that makes everything taste better.
The city opens up a little.
We’re not saying to stop eating at restaurants all together. A dinner with The Family Table is so much more than that. Your host knows this city differently than any guidebook does. Where the good market is. What the neighbourhood used to be. The restaurant around the corner that has no sign outside. This is the kind of thing you only get at someone's table.
At some point, you realise you haven't checked your phone in an hour.
What does a Family Table dinner cost?
Host families on The Family Table set their own price, based on their menu, the number of guests they're welcoming, and what feels right for the evening they're offering.
Prices typically range from €15 to €45 per person. You'll see the full details before you book: the menu, the start time and the duration.
What's included
Everything. Your price covers the meal and the evening, cooked and hosted by a local family.
How hosts decide what to charge
We give hosts guidance on pricing based on their menu, location, and the number of guests but the final price is always theirs to set.
A note on value
A Family Table is more than a meal.
You're joining a local family in their home, sharing a table where children are genuinely welcome, enjoying a home-cooked meal, and experiencing a destination through the people who know it best. It's the kind of evening you'll still be talking about long after it's over.
