How hosts and guests treat each other on The Family Table

Welcome to The Family Table.
The Family Table exists to bring families together through shared meals, cultural exchange, kindness, and human connection. Our community is built on trust, respect, openness, and care for one another.
These Community Guidelines are intended to help create safe, welcoming, and positive experiences for everyone who participates on our Platform.
By participating in experiences through The Family Table, you agree to follow these Guidelines in addition to our Terms & Conditions and other applicable policies.
1. Respect Everyone
Treat Hosts, guests, children, families, and community members with kindness, dignity, and respect.
We do not tolerate:
- harassment;
- discrimination;
- bullying;
- intimidation;
- hate speech;
- threatening behavior;
- sexual misconduct;
- abusive language; or
- unwanted physical contact.
This includes conduct based on:
- race;
- ethnicity;
- nationality;
- religion;
- gender;
- sexual orientation;
- disability;
- family structure;
- age; or
- cultural background.
2. Children’s Safety Comes First
The safety and wellbeing of children is a top priority.
Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for supervising minors at all times during experiences unless otherwise expressly agreed.
Hosts and guests must:
- interact appropriately and respectfully with minors;
- avoid unsafe, inappropriate, or exploitative behaviour;
- respect family boundaries and parenting choices; and
- immediately report serious safety concerns.
Any behaviour that may endanger children may result in immediate removal from the Platform and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
3. Respect Homes & Shared Spaces
Experiences often take place in private homes and personal spaces.
Guests should:
- treat homes and belongings respectfully;
- follow reasonable household rules;
- communicate openly and politely;
- clean up after themselves where appropriate; and
- respect privacy and personal boundaries.
Hosts should:
- provide accurate information about the experience;
- maintain a reasonably safe and welcoming environment; and
- communicate expectations clearly.
4. Food, Allergies & Dietary Respect
Food is central to The Family Table experience.
Hosts should make reasonable efforts to:
- communicate ingredients honestly;
- disclose known allergens when possible; and
- accommodate dietary restrictions where agreed.
Guests are responsible for:
- communicating allergies and dietary needs clearly before participation; and
- exercising personal judgment regarding food consumption.
The Family Table cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.
5. Photography & Privacy
Respect the privacy of all participants.
Do not:
- photograph;
- record;
- livestream; or
- share images or personal information
without appropriate consent from everyone involved, including parents or guardians of minors.
Participants should respect:
- personal boundaries;
- privacy preferences; and
- requests not to be photographed or recorded.
6. Cultural Respect & Inclusion
The Family Table celebrates cultural exchange and diversity.
Approach experiences with:
- openness;
- curiosity;
- empathy; and
- respect for different traditions, lifestyles, parenting approaches, languages, and customs.
Disrespectful, discriminatory, or intentionally offensive behavior is not acceptable.
7. Safety & Responsible Behaviour
Participants should behave responsibly and exercise good judgment during all interactions.
Users must not:
- engage in unlawful activity;
- bring weapons or illegal substances to experiences;
- pressure others into unsafe behaviour;
- participate while dangerously intoxicated; or
- create unsafe environments for children or other participants.
Hosts remain responsible for complying with applicable local laws relating to alcohol, food preparation, and hosting activities.
8. Communication & Honest Representation
Users should communicate honestly and respectfully.
Do not:
- provide false information;
- impersonate others;
- misrepresent identities, homes, or experiences;
- manipulate reviews; or
- engage in fraudulent behaviour.
Trust is essential to our community.
9. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or observe:
- unsafe behaviour;
- harassment;
- discrimination;
- inappropriate conduct involving minors;
- fraud;
- privacy violations; or
- violations of these Guidelines,
please contact The Family Table promptly.
We may investigate reports and take action where appropriate, including:
- warnings;
- content removal;
- booking cancellation;
- account suspension; or
- permanent removal from the Platform.
10. Our Community Values
At its heart, The Family Table is about:
- connection;
- generosity;
- curiosity;
- cultural exchange;
- kindness;
- and creating meaningful experiences for families around the world.
We ask all community members to help foster a welcoming environment where people feel safe, respected, and included.
11. Enforcement
Failure to follow these Community Guidelines may result in:
- warnings;
- removal of content or listings;
- cancellation of bookings;
- temporary suspension; or
- permanent removal from the Platform.
The Family Table reserves the right to take action where reasonably necessary to protect the safety, wellbeing, and integrity of the community.
